Guttural Pouch Empyema
A collection of purulent material, or pus, in the diverticulum of the auditory tubes – also known as the guttural pouch. It is usually the consequence of a disease referred to as “strangles”. Infection of the retropharyngeal lymph nodes form an abscess that bursts into the guttural pouch.
